Georgetown Hackathon 2012
"Striving for the Magis (the more)"
What: 100 students & alumni | 30 faculty & staff | 20 teams | 36 hours | $2,000
Hacking: "Taking something apart and rebuilding it to make it better or give it a new function"
The Challenge: Design an app, product, or service that will transform the University and enhance the way students live, learn, work, and play at Georgetown.
The Mission: To turn "data into information" and create a more social and mobile Georgetown.
Collaborate: Georgetown staff, faculty, and designers and engineers from innovative companies will participate as mentors for these 20 teams during the Georgetown Hackathon.
Incubate: Teams will present 3 minute pitches on Sunday to a panel of Georgetown senior administrators as well as other leading industry thinkers. The winning teams will get to incubate their ideas directly at the University.
